Mind, Body, Spirit Healing–Putting It into Practice

Modern Medicine promotes the belief that health and wellness is a crap shoot, genetically driven and at best, pure luck. If the roll of the dice isn’t in your favor or your genetic make-up has been doomed six generations back, or luck runs out, Modern Medicine has a magic pill, chemical bomb or simply cutting out whatever organ is afflicted as a solution.

Norman Vincent Peale declared, “Change your thoughts, and you change your world.” Caroline Myss, medical intuitive extraordinaire states, “Every choice we make, every thought and feeling we have, is an act of power that has biological, environmental, social, personal and global consequences.” Wayne Dyer states, “We are responsible for everything in our lives, including whether the chemistry in our body works or doesn’t work.” If you believe health and wellness is a crap shoot, genetically driven or pure luck you have set the stage for body malfunction. If you believe as Norman Vincent Peale, Caroline Myss, PhD and Wayne Dyer, PhD, Deepak Chopra, MD believe your choices, thoughts and feelings are an act of power, and that you are responsible, then you are in control of your health.

To be effective Mind, Body, Spirit healing needs to be practiced on a daily basis–not after your body is being ravaged by a malfunction. Mind, Body, Spirit healing is a process that maintains and supports health and wellness, thereby prevents body malfunction. People who practice Mind, Body Spirit healing avoid having cancer, MS, heart attacks, strokes, and the 101 other afflictions from A to Z, which Modern Medicine has conditioned us to be plagued by from birth to death–for many a premature death.

The nine most frequent surgeries in America are Tonsillectomies, myringotomies, Cataract removal, Low-back surgery, Gall Bladder removal, Hysterectomies, C-Section, Sleep Apnea, Jaw pain.

As Dr. Myss stated–“…every thought and feeling we have, is an act of power that has biological,…consequences.” In order to change any biological consequence you need to change your thoughts, which changes your feelings. Your new thoughts/beliefs must be shifted to empower you to control your health.

To eliminate/avoid the most common reasons for surgery, it is important to know the thoughts/beliefs, which creates body malfunctions and healthy thoughts/beliefs to prevent or heal it.

Tonsillitis, Quinsy, Sore Throat – cause: Fear, Repressed emotions, Stifled Creativity, A strong belief that you cannot speak up for yourself and ask for your needs, Feeling unable to express yourself. Holding in angry words.

Ear Infection – cause: Anger. Not wanting to hear. Too much turmoil. Parents arguing.

Listen to and acknowledge your child’s feelings. Avoid talking at your child, talk with your child. There many excellent books on effective parenting. If there is turmoil, fighting and arguing between the parents–seek counseling to resolve your adult issues. I urge adults who have frequent colds/sore throats to use the following thought patterns. “I hear with love. Harmony surrounds me. I listen with love to the pleasant and the good. I am a center of love.”

See http://www.gen-assist.com to find a sexual abuse recovery specialist, traditional therapy is not effective to guide you through sexual abuse recovery.

I ask for what I want and I accept with joy and pleasure.”

Tip: Write these thoughts on a 3X5 card. Read them silently or out loud 3 times upon awakening and before going to sleep. Have a copy with you, if you notice you are running the old tapes in your head, read the new thought pattern. Within 30 – 45 days you will notice you feel better, more energized and have a sense of relief.

The food we eat or lack of proper nutrition contributes to physical malfunction. I will discuss nutritional needs–titled Holistic Nutrition.

Mind-Body Wellness – What Does Spirit Have to Do With It?

For some of us, attaining mind-body wellness appears to be a daunting task. Some of us are so accustomed to seeking and finding our favorite ways to avoid feeling uncomfortable. Depending upon our prior experiences and personal preferences, we may turn to a specific familiar and comfortable activity to avoid self-reflecting and facing our own internal, and sometimes painful, emotions. We may choose an obvious addictive-type activity, such as abusing chemical substances, pharmaceuticals and recreational drugs, compulsive sexual behaviors, workaholism, or gambling or we may chooses a less obvious avoidance activity such as excessive exercise, uncontrollable shopping, or even emotional outbursts and excessive talking.

Our internal and external energy fields are affected by the people and environments we gravitate toward. Our physical vibration actually synchronizes with others. It is common knowledge that two young ladies who spend a lot of time together tend to develop synchronous menstrual cycles. However, most of us do not realize that all of our organ systems and brain patterns also synchronize with those around us.

Studies are finding that overweight people who spend time with overweight people or happy people who spend time with other happy people, tend to sustain their current weight, current attitudes, and current demeanor. However, if an overweight person is surrounded by thin, health conscious friends and colleagues, that person may begin to synchronize and more easilyn make choices that help him or her to lose weight. A happy person surrounded by depressed and negative people may gradually lose his or her positive outlook and happy smile.

How can a person begin to alter a lifestyle that is not leading to mind-body wellness?

First step is always AWARENESS

Pay attention and tell yourself the truth about where you are currently on the mind-body wellness continuum.

Second step is to OBSERVE your thoughts and actions.

Acknowledge how these affect your choices and behaviors that alter your mind-body wellness.

Third step is to FEEL your energy level.

Consciously notice whether you have a high, medium, low or hyperactive level of energy and determine what factors may be related to your current energy level.

Fourth step is to TUNE INTO your emotions.

Determine whether your emotions are balanced and within your conscious control or if they are either excessively controlled or unpredictable and out of your conscious control.

Fifth step is to REALIZE AND DEFINE your passion.

If your passion and joy is elicited by negative, self-defeating, harmful or even illegal activities, you need to dig deep inside your mind, body and spirit to discover the core truth about your passion that has somehow been repressed.

Sixth step is to RECREATE your passion.

Seek and find that high level of focus, intensity, animation and pleasure that you have either completely suppressed or have placed into an unproductive pursuit.

Seventh step is to ACCESS your own inner being.

Find a way to access your inner spirit, your soul, the wise one within you,

Through some form of focused internal activity that leads to personal relaxation, contemplation, meditation, and spiritual connection.

Eighth step is to find a systematic way to RE-TRAIN your own mind.

Scientists have discovered the brain’s neuroplasticity, it’s ability to adapt and change and create new pathways, brain patterns and brain maps throughout life.

Finally, as you begin to regain your own mind-body wellness, you are able to grasp the concept that everyone and everything is energetically connected. You begin to understand that we are all spiritual beings claiming our own birthright to the enjoyment of the wonders of creation.

When your own mind and body are finally in balance, you naturally connect to a place of depth within your own self, a place of spiritual alignment. Life becomes easier, less of a struggle, less of sense of fighting upstream. Life becomes less of an effort to “do” something and more and more of a willingness to “allow” life to unfold gracefully.

What does it take to create such a high level of mind-body wellness? All it takes is a sincere desire and taking daily small steps, one day at a time, one situation at a time, one moment at a time, even one thought at a time. The road to mind-body wellness is a very simple, straight and narrow path. It is available to all who seek it.

Are you ready and willing to create your own mind-body wellness now?

Aligning Your Body, Mind and Spirit Into One Powerful Force

There are those (although few) that continue believing that “being healthy” is only about focusing on how well the body is functioning. Then there are more enlightened individuals that are aware of their mind-body connection and know that “being healthy” refers to both the health of the mind and the body.

Brighter still are those enlightened ones that are aware that true health begins even deeper than the mind. True health begins with our deepest connection to life – our spiritual selves.

The different parts of us – our mind, our emotions, our body and our spirit are not separate entities, isolated and operating independently. We are a working unit with all parts working together to achieve one thing – our health, happiness and longevity.

Exercise is, without a doubt, the most empowering thing we can do boost our body/muscle and mind/muscle strength. But, exercise is not just about keeping our body in shape, our internal organs working at peak efficiency and our minds sharp.

Scientific studies prove that a healthy, active lifestyle, one that includes regular exercise is the key that opens the door to our spiritual fulfillment.

Think about it. When we are actively exercising, we are actively loving ourselves. And, when we actively love ourselves, we open the door to our spiritual connection. It is this connection that allows us to develop our spiritual muscle!

Developing Your Spiritual Muscle

Why is it important to have a spiritual muscle? Our mental health is directly affected by our spiritual health in the same way our physical health is effected by our mental health. Without a strong spiritual base to draw from, our mental muscle would soon become weak.

The reality is, when our spiritual cauldron is empty, it’s very hard to stay in and function from positive perceptions. A positive mental attitude is the result of having a happy and fulfilled spirit. It’s impossible to feel empty spiritually and fulfilled mentally the same way its impossible to feel healthy physically if our mental attitude is down in the dumps the majority of the time.

Everyday we make multiple decisions and face daily challenges and it is our spiritual muscle that’s called on to feed strength to our mental muscle and it is our mental muscle that feeds strength (through positive, encouraging thoughts) to our bodies ultimately leading them down the healthy and happy lifestyle path.

It is exercise that provides the chemical (can we say hormones) and emotional shift that in turn allows us to clear out the “mind chatter,” the chatter that constantly seeks our attention but only wastes our precious energy.

Without our personal mind chatter cluttering things up, it’s much easier to connect to our deeper true essence – our spiritual selves.

When we clear the clutter and detach from the chaos in our minds, we are left with the “now” moment. This “moment” is affectionately called “the zone” by athletes and when they are in the zone, great things happen!

In this “now” moment, this aware state of mind, we are consciously connected to our mind, body and spirit and that empowers us to decrease negative thinking and constant chatter, build confidence and increase emotional stability.

Let’s face it, every single one of us struggles at one time or another with our attitudes and not so pleasant feelings. Where do we go for relief?

Exercise – exercise gifts us with feel-good hormones (those magical endorphins) that help turn destructive negative thoughts and emotions around. The more endorphins we have operating, the happier and more content we’ll feel.

When we are happy, we think positive thoughts and our quality of life improves because of it.

Exercising helps us detox from all the poisons we are subjected to daily allowing our bodies to become lighter and brighter. This same detox clears the mind and the spirit. No body will survive long if the mind is in a sick state, and no mind can survive if its underlying spirit is sick.

The body thrives because of a healthy mind and the mind thrives because of a healthy spirit. And, the key to a healthy spirit, is, not surprisingly exercise!

The reality is, all areas of our lives – family life, work environment, personal life and spiritual life are effected by and positively impacted by exercise.
